It all started with a wet canvas, a mezcal, and absolutely no business plan.
THIS IS CRAFT LAB
Craft Lab started the way most good ideas do: between two friends with a vision and maybe a couple of margaritas.
Lauren and Abby dreamed Craft Lab up together, combining Lauren's background running Always Pretty Busy, a kids' party and custom décor business, with Abby's expertise in events and permanent jewelry. They knew how to make things and they knew how to run a room.
The idea was simple: take everything great about making things and bring it to adults. Elevated, guided craft experiences that are actually fun and don't require you to show up already knowing what you're doing.
Today Lauren runs Craft Lab with her partner Adrienne, a fellow CNN alum and the operational backbone of the business. They're both moms, they've both sat through painful "team building" and "moms night" moments, and they built something they'd actually want to attend.
Craft Lab does events, corporate offsites, milestone celebrations, private parties, and sells products designed to bring the experience home. Everything is hands-on, thoughtfully designed, and a little bit extra in the best way.
Lauren Cohen
Lauren Cohen is the founder of Craft Lab ATL and its self-appointed Chief Bedazzler. She spent years in HR and recruiting obsessing over people, culture, and what actually makes a room come alive. Eventually she decided to just build the thing she wanted to attend.
When she's not running Craft Lab, she's raising three creative kids, wrangling Waffles the Cavapoo, and adding rhinestones to something that absolutely did not need them. You can also find her at her xTool laser cutter or deep in an alcohol ink spiral.
She has no regrets.
Adrienne Hoyt
Adrienne Hoyt is the COO of Craft Lab ATL and its Chief Sparkle Strategist. She spent years in communications and operations turning big ideas into systems that actually work, which makes her the perfect counterbalance to everything else happening at Craft Lab.
Adrienne keeps the trains running, the clients happy, and the chaos organized. Every workshop that feels effortless? That's her.
Outside of Craft Lab she's raising two kids, maintaining a sourdough starter, staying on top of her wellness routine, and caring for a spirited collection of lizards. She brings the same energy to all of it.
Abby Kelley
Abby Kelley is a co-founder of Craft Lab ATL and will always be a creative consultant. She's the person in the room who knows immediately if something is off and exactly how to fix it. Abby shaped the Craft Lab aesthetic from the beginning and her design instincts are baked into everything we do.
